307 || How to Start Listening to the Whispers of God || Kathy Izard

Have you ever felt a God nudge?

Whether you call it a nudge, a whisper, or a prompting, I bet you’ve had at least one. Maybe it was subtle. Maybe you didn’t understand it in the moment. Or maybe it’s like you were knocked over the head with a two-by-four and you cannot go on ignoring it.

IF YOU’VE EVER FELT GOD SPEAK A DREAM INTO YOUR HEART, THIS IS THE EPISODE FOR YOU!

In many cases, the God whisper or prompting is beyond anything you ever imagined for your life, and for my guest, Kathy Izard, it came loud and clear and completely unexpected.

A graphic designer and a mother of four, Kathy’s life took an unexpected turn while she was volunteering at a local soup kitchen. A surprising encounter with Denver Moore, co-author of the book Same Kind of Different as Me, sparked a journey that would require her to surrender in ways she never imagined.

Despite having no background in fundraising, construction, or development, Kathy felt a profound sense of purpose that compelled her to leave her full-time graphic design job and dedicate herself to helping bring transformation in homelessness, housing and mental health in Charlotte, North Carolina.

She tells the whole story in her new book, Trust the Whisper, releasing on June 11, 2024, but as a Devoted Dreamers listener, you’ll get a little glimpse today of her inspiring testimony as she trusted a whisper to serve her community, regardless of prior experience or skillset.

Listen in as we learn from Kathy’s remarkable story of embracing this unexpected God-shaped dream and discover how you, too, might trust the whispers in your life.

This episode is sure to ignite your faith and encourage you to take the next step. We talk about:

💡How to know if you have a God whisper,
✨ Why your dream probably doesn’t come with a roadmap (and how to take steps anyway),
❤️ What it looks like to surrender to a dream you didn’t know you wanted and how God directs your steps when you do.

This inspiring podcast episode is for any Christian woman in search of encouragement about how to use your skills, talents, and life experience for the big dreams God has planted in your heart.

Scripture:

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
~ Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

But you are God’s chosen treasure—priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world.
