Rachel Bates never imagined starting a nonprofit; in fact, even as she leads the Beauties ministry, this role feels outside of her comfort zone and skill set on most days. The reason she said ‘yes’? Beauties has touched Rachel’s life and the faith of her young daughter so deeply. She couldn’t ignore the Spirit’s prompting to grow the ministry and reach girls beyond her home community—or that she was the one to begin this work.

Rachel Bates is passionate about helping women and girls know they are deeply loved and valued by God. She has over 15 years of experience serving in women and children’s ministry in church and loves to host events that connect people. Rachel loves being a stay-at-home mom and pouring into the Beauties ministry as a volunteer. She started a Beauties group for her daughter in 2013 and led that group for 8 years. With a background teaching upper elementary, a masters in reading, and a few years of homeschool under her belt, she was excited to work with her co-lead to develop new curriculum and a Beauties leader workshop in 2017. Since then, she felt God calling her to bring Beauties to a larger audience as a nonprofit. When not working on Beauties, she loves to play board games with her husband and two teens, grab coffee with a friend, and enjoy a good book.
